He engaged in urban and regional planning, village construction planning in the areas of theoretical research, planning, personnel training and practice work. And he successively presided and participated in the different levels of urban and regional planning program to complete more than 60 of the urbanization and urban development strategies, urban system, and overall urban and rural construction land use planning of Shandong, Tianjin, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Nanning and other cities and regions. It has undertaken more than 20 major and key projects such as national 863 science and technology support plan, water project, public welfare industry project and natural fund. He has published more than 200 academic papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, including more than 180 Chinese papers (161 core journals) and more than 30 English papers (12 included in SCI/SSCI/EI). He is the editor of 11 books and textbooks. He is also the editor of the national key book publishing program during the 12th five-year plan period, including Research on Land and Housing in China and Regional Planning and Land Use in Villages and Towns, which in the new urbanization, the county planning and rural development and construction planning, land use planning and evaluation as well as housing development achievements is outstanding originality. He enriches the urban and rural planning, land science and the humanities geography discipline theory and technical methods and obtains more than 30 national, provincial and international science and technology awards, 5 patents, many achievements and planning methods implemented applications, achievingremarkable social and economic benefits.

The International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development under the Auspices of UNESCO (Category 2) was approved at the 38th session of UNESCO General Assembly in November 2015.
