The plenary session of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) was held Thursday in Beijing, bringing together domestic and international officials, experts, scholars, business leaders, and representatives of institutions.
At the plenary session, prominent figures delivered keynote speeches on thought-provoking topics such as how innovative technologies are shaping a better life, how new quality productive forces are driving high-quality development, and the future of artificial intelligence.
Speakers included Aaron Ciechanover, the 2004 Nobel laureate in Chemistry and foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Yan Ning, founding dean of the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation; Stephen Perry, honorary chairman of the 48 Group Club U.K.; Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi Group; and Piero Scaruffi, founder and president of the Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Research Institute.
Now in its 15th year, the ZGC Forum has established itself as a national-level open innovation platform and an international forum.
Themed "Innovation: Building a Better World," this year's forum is co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government.
With over 128 events scheduled, the 2024 ZGC Forum promises to be an inspiring and transformative gathering of global minds dedicated to building a better world through innovation.
